About Me

Hi! 

My name is Merring-Jippa Murray and I am a proud Yorta Yorta, Wamba Wamba, Dja Dja Wurrung and Kamilaroi woman, born in Echuca, Victoria and have grown up living and travelling in different areas of Australia including Bendigo, Canberra, Melbourne and Port Lincoln. I am currently living on Yorta Yorta country where I get to feel daily connectedness to my culture, my community and kinship. 

I enjoy being creative and have a passion for digital art, sketching and photography. I began my art journey at a young age when I was inspired by my older sister, Lani watching her on her own creative art journey. In my early 20s I became more career focused and I restarted my creative and artistic journey in my late 20's. I have since enjoyed doing my art digitally which is the main medium I use. 

I would describe myself as an animal person which is seen in my art of contemporary combinations of native Australian animals and Aboriginal art styles.
